Medium hosts new morning radio show

 UNITED STATES. New York medium Mary Occhino – known to many as “Mary O” – is to host a new radio show on the Sirius Stars channel. Titled “Angels on Call”, it will be Sirius Stars’ first live daily morning talk show and is designed to give listeners – particularly commuters – a positive start to the day. Loch Ness Monster wins by a nose

But it is the Loch Ness Monster – whose very existence is doubted by many – who has come out on top in a survey of 2,000 adults across the UK. TV can’t get enough of the paranormal

 MEDIA. There seems to be no end to the public’s appetite for television programmes with a paranormal theme. In the UK, three mediums – Tony Stockwell (right), Tracy Higgs and Colin Fry – will attempt to solve crimes on a new series, Psychic Private Eyes, which will start in December. Spiritualist president accused of rape

 SWEDEN. British-born Mervyn Johnson, who lives in Sweden and was elected president of the International Spiritualist Federation this year, is being held in a Swedish jail on a charge of raping a 14-year-old girl. The arrest of the medium and trance healer follows accusations made against him by four women. Johnson is said to have denied the charge but to have admitted some of the acts he is alleged to have committed, which date back to 2003. Read More

'Remote viewing led to Saddam's capture'

A day after Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death by hanging, famous spoon-bender Uri Geller claimed an American remote viewer had led the Americans to his hiding place in 2003. In an interview with Reuters news agency he said he had proof of this statement but would not reveal his source. Helen Duncan remembered – but no pardon in sight

The grand-daughter of one of Britain’s most famous physical mediums, Helen Duncan, lead a ceremony on 29 October that remembered 81 people from Prestonpans, close to Edinburgh, who were killed during the witchcraft trials of the 16th and 17th centuries. They were all pardoned in 2004 by the Baron of Prestoungrange. But Scottish medium Helen Duncan, who was charged and imprisoned in England for nine months in 1944 under the Witchcraft Act of 1735, has yet to be pardoned. Read More
